THE STARFISH
THE STARFISH
Learning by doing helps you become a part of the bigger picture, where every piece matters.
THE PARROTFISH PROTECTOR
VO HOANG BICH VY
My name is Genevieve, and I want to help protect the ocean, especially the parrotfish, turtles, and coral reefs that are so beautiful and important.
I was 8 years old when I first joined GIVE Sustainable’s activities. I’m really curious about the underwater world and love discovering new things about it. I learned to dive because I love the feeling of getting close to a school of fish and watching the colorful coral reefs, which are home to so many different species. I also enjoy drawing, and at GIVE, I can use my art to show people why we need to care for the ocean.
It’s fun to work with other kids, and together we’re learning how we can make a difference.
I want to help keep the ocean clean and safe for all the animals!
The Parrotfish Protector,

A CRAB KEEPER
MINH TRI
My name is Minh Tri, and I’m 8 years old. I love traveling to the beaches in Vietnam with my grandparents and to the islands in the Philippines with my dad.
I enjoy catching crabs and exploring sea creatures, but I also really love numbers and math! It’s fun to think about how the ocean is so big, and math helps me understand it even better. I can use math to count how many crabs I catch. Math can also help us understand the problem of plastic pollution—like how many pieces of plastic end up in the ocean every day.
When I spend my summers in Switzerland with my grandparents, I have a lot of fun, but I always miss the ocean.
Being away from the sea makes me think even more about how important it is to protect it.
The Crab Keeper,
Minh Tri
THE SHARK LOVER
BAO
My name is Bao, and although I’m an extremely introverted person, I’ve always found a way to express myself through drawing. I have a deep fascination with sharks, and most of my artwork reflects that passion. Being part of GIVE Sustainable has given me the perfect opportunity to explore my love for marine life, especially sharks, while also honing my artistic skills.
Even though I prefer quiet moments, the GIVE program has helped me grow more confident in sharing my work with others. I’ve been able to learn new techniques, meet other Starfish members, and slowly open up while staying true to who I am. Drawing sharks and learning about ocean conservation through art has become a way for me to connect with the world around me.
Through GIVE, I’ve discovered that even though I may be quiet, my art can still make a strong impact, helping to raise awareness for the ocean and the creatures I love.
A Shark Lover,
Bao
THE TURTLE LOVER
TU KHANH
My name is Tu Khanh. People usually see me as really quiet, but I’m super curious, especially when it comes to learning about the ocean. My sister is my biggest support, and I always feel safe staying close to her, watching the world around us. We even love the same sea animal—the turtle. It’s my favorite, just like hers.
Joining GIVE Sustainable has changed so much for me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and let me work with artists and my Starfish friends. The first time I spoke on stage, I felt really nervous, but by the end, I started to feel more confident, stepping out of the little world I’d always stayed in.
At GIVE, I learned that even a quiet voice like mine can be heard. Now, I’m excited to keep growing and using this new confidence to connect with and inspire other people.

THE TURTLE PROTECTOR
TU KHUE
My name is Tu Khue, and I have a twin sister named Tu Khanh. I’m the older one, so I always feel like I need to look out for her and make sure she’s happy and safe. That’s really important to me.
At GIVE Sustainable, I love teaching the Babyfish because they remind me of my sister. It makes me so happy to see them get more confident and excited, just like she does. It’s really cool how art helps them get curious about the ocean and all the sea animals.
Through the art workshops, I’ve learned that being patient and encouraging really makes a difference. It’s been an amazing experience, and I’m so thankful for the chance to inspire others and feel inspired myself.
The Turtle Protector,
Tu Khue
THE STARFISH RESCUER
SIRO
My name is Siro. I’m an outgoing and confident kid who loves being in the spotlight. I really enjoy working with the other Starfish, sharing my ideas, and getting inspired by them. One of my favorite things to do is teach the Babyfish. I love seeing how excited they get when learning about the ocean and all its cool creatures.
Thanks to GIVE, I got the amazing chance to help the Babyfish learn to appreciate and protect marine life. Sharing what I know and being super enthusiastic makes them more interested, and it even makes me love the ocean more, too.
Being with GIVE has taught me how awesome it is to work together and how fun it is to mentor others. It’s really cool to see how our teamwork can make a difference for the ocean and our community.
The Starfish Rescuer,
Siro
THE JELLYFISH LOVER
MIMI
My name is Mimi. I’m usually the quiet one who likes to watch and learn from others. I’m pretty humble and love working with people. Even though I seem really shy at first, once you get to know me, I start talking a lot!
I love working as a team and trying new things, like speaking on stage at GIVE Sustainable. Watching other Starfish stand up and speak made me think, “If they can do it, why can’t I?” So I gave it a try. At first, I was nervous, but after doing it, I realized I could do it and shine too.
I’ve learned that stepping back sometimes helps me get ready and shine in my own way, even if it means taking a little longer to get there.
The Jellyfish Lover,
Mimi
THE SEAHORSE WATCHER
MIA
My name is Mia. Honestly, I didn’t come here by choice—my mom thought it would be good for me. I really, really love art and creating beautiful, meaningful things, but I usually like to do it my own way. Here at GIVE Sustainable, the artist teaches a style that’s really different from what I’m used to, and it feels a bit uncomfortable, like it’s not really me. And working side by side with kids who aren’t from my class adds to that feeling—I don’t really know them, so it’s a little awkward.
But even with the new techniques and people, GIVE gives me the chance to show why the ocean and its creatures matter to me. I can still find ways to make it my own, in my quiet way.
For me, that’s what’s special about GIVE—it lets me share my love for the ocean through art, without having to be in the spotlight.
The Seahorse Watcher,
Mia
