I’m Andy Lin – a pretty introverted person who enjoys observing the world quietly and reading books. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a slightly different kind of situation.

I was born into a family where my older brother had a medical accident at just two years old. Because he didn’t receive proper first aid, he suffered permanent brain damage and has had to live the rest of his life with many difficult limitations. Growing up beside him and caring for him closely helped nurture in me a deep understanding of love, empathy, and the responsibility to protect those who are more vulnerable – especially children.

As a core volunteer at GIVE Sustainable, I’ve joined many outreach trips to coastal areas where we organize environmental education and art activities for children. Through each conversation, each drawing session, I’ve come to realize something important:

“I believe art is the gentlest way to raise awareness in children – but for it to matter, it has to go beyond the drawing.”

That’s why I came up with a small idea: helping kids recognize risks and learn how to avoid accidents caused by everyday waste – through drawing. Thankfully, GIVE Sustainable supported the idea right away. The uncles and aunties at GIVE helped me develop it further and worked with experts from SSVN – one of the leading organizations in first aid and survival skills training – to turn it into a real program: Safety Star.

🎨 Safety Star – For a Safer Childhood

Safety Star carries a simple yet meaningful mission: to equip children with first aid and school safety skills – starting from their own world of color, imagination, and confidence.

Currently, I serve as the program’s ambassador. I also assist as a teaching support and help connect different resources – from artists, doctors, and coaches to children in the community. I hope the program will continue to grow and truly become part of everyday life – in schools, in families, and throughout society.

Mình là Andy Lin – một người khá hướng nội, thích quan sát và đọc sách. Có lẽ vì từ nhỏ, mình đã lớn lên trong một hoàn cảnh hơi đặc biệt một chút.

Mình sinh ra trong một gia đình có anh trai không may gặp tai nạn y tế từ khi mới 2 tuổi. Vì không được sơ cứu đúng cách, anh trai mình đã bị tổn thương não và phải sống cả cuộc đời còn lại với những giới hạn không mong muốn. Từ nhỏ, mình đã gần gũi chăm sóc anh, và chính trải nghiệm ấy đã nuôi dưỡng trong mình sự thấu hiểu sâu sắc về tình yêu thương, sự lắng nghe và trách nhiệm bảo vệ những người yếu thế – đặc biệt là trẻ em.

Khi tham gia với vai trò tình nguyện viên nòng cốt tại GIVE Sustainable, mình đã nhiều lần đồng hành trong các chuyến đi xa đến các vùng biển để tổ chức những hoạt động giáo dục bảo vệ môi trường và nghệ thuật dành cho trẻ nhỏ. Qua từng cuộc trò chuyện, lắng nghe và cùng các em vẽ nên thế giới của riêng mình, mình nhận ra một điều:

“Mình tin nghệ thuật là cách nhẹ nhàng nhất để giáo dục nhận thức cho trẻ nhỏ – và để điều đó có ý nghĩa, nó không thể chỉ dừng lại ở bức vẽ.”

Từ suy nghĩ ấy, mình đã chủ động đề xuất một sáng kiến nhỏ: giúp trẻ em nhận diện rủi ro và học cách phòng tránh tai nạn từ những rác thải hàng ngày thông qua tranh vẽ. Ý tưởng của mình nhanh chóng nhận được sự ủng hộ từ GIVE Sustainable. Các cô chú ở GIVE đã phát triển ý tưởng này và phối hợp cùng các chuyên gia tại SSVN – tổ chức hàng đầu về đào tạo sơ cấp cứu và kỹ năng sinh tồn cho cộng đồng – để tạo nên chương trình Safety Star.

🎨 Safety Star – Vì một tuổi thơ an toàn

Chương trình Safety Star mang trong mình một sứ mệnh giản dị nhưng đầy ý nghĩa: Trang bị kỹ năng sơ cứu và an toàn học đường cho trẻ em – bắt đầu từ chính thế giới màu sắc, trí tưởng tượng và sự tự tin của các em.

Hiện tại, mình đảm nhận vai trò Đại sứ chương trình, đồng thời là trợ giảng và người kết nối các nguồn lực – từ nghệ sĩ, bác sĩ, huấn luyện viên đến các em nhỏ trong cộng đồng. Mình hy vọng chương trình sẽ tiếp tục lan tỏa và thật sự đi vào đời sống – từ trường học, đến gia đình và xã hội.

My name is An Di, and though I may be quiet, I believe that actions speak louder than words. As someone who thrives on focus and precision, I’ve always let my work do the talking. From the very beginning, I’ve been part of GIVE Sustainable, helping to shape and run the projects that drive our mission forward.

My passion for sports has taught me the value of discipline and teamwork, and I’ve applied those lessons to every aspect of my work here. Whether it’s organizing events or ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, I strive to bring sharp attention and careful planning to everything I do. For me, it’s not just about completing tasks—it’s about making sure that the impact we create is meaningful and lasting.

Watching the Starfish and Babyfish kids grow through our programs has been an incredible experience. Helping them understand the importance of protecting our oceans, even through simple acts, reminds me that true leadership often comes in quiet moments.

It’s about guiding with purpose and letting actions inspire change.

My name is Khánh Linh, and as a 17-year-old who loves art, dancing, and marketing, I’ve found my true passion in organizing events and connecting with people. Through GIVE Sustainable, I’ve had the opportunity to take on the role of event host, guiding the Starfish and Babyfish kids through creative and meaningful activities.

Being the event host has allowed me to bond deeply with the children, helping them express themselves and understand the importance of protecting our oceans. I love seeing their faces light up when they learn something new, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to coach them, helping them explore their creativity through art and storytelling. These moments have strengthened my connection with the kids, making me realize how important it is to inspire the next generation to care for the environment.

My role isn’t just about running events—it’s about making sure every child feels seen, heard, and empowered.

Through this journey, I’ve discovered the power of creativity and connection in making a real difference.
