BÉ YÊU BIỂN WORKSHOP #01 with PHAM THANH TOAN – The Artist

SAVE THE PARROTFISH

“Starfish Kids” learning new painting technique: Lacquer on canvas with famous Artist Pham Thanh Toan.

Discovering the Ocean’s Wonders

In a fun, hands-on workshop, the Starfish kids teamed up with teens from The Apprentice program to dive into the world of the ocean. Led by artist Pham Thanh Toan, they learned about coral reefs and the important role parrotfish play in keeping these ecosystems healthy. The kids and teens worked together, capturing the beauty of the ocean in their own way, from colorful coral to the fish that swim through it.

Learning New Art Techniques

With help from their older Apprentice mentors, the Starfish kids moved beyond basic colors and simple drawings. Pham Thanh Toan introduced them to acrylic painting techniques inspired by traditional lacquer art. The teamwork between the younger and older kids created a fun atmosphere, as they experimented with bold colors and confident brushstrokes, turning their ideas into impressive works of art.

Creating for a Purpose

This workshop wasn’t just about painting—it was about learning how art can make a difference. By working together, the Starfish kids and Apprentice teens not only built their artistic skills but also learned how they can help protect the ocean. GIVE Sustainable’s mission is simple: through creativity and teamwork, we can inspire kids to take small steps today to ensure a better, healthier planet for tomorrow.
