GIVE Sustainable – WHERE THE COMMUNITY TOUCHES ART AND SAFETY
On August 7, 2024, at Vạn Hạnh Mall, the community event “Quick Hands – Save the Miracle” was organized by SSVN – Survival Skills Vietnam, with the collaboration of GIVE Sustainable. The event welcomed more than 200 participants on a journey that combined first aid training with community art experiences.
Community Art – 10 “An” Paintings
At the heart of the event, GIVE Sustainable presented 10 paintings themed “An”, created by young artist Genevieve – Starfish Club.
These serene yet powerful strokes conveyed life-saving messages about first aid skills: a sudden choking incident, a fall in the playground, or a heartbeat that needs reviving within seconds.
Each painting became a gentle reminder to children and families: Safety begins with small actions that can save a life.
Interactive Art – Tales of The Boxes
Beyond the canvas, the Babyfish children transformed recycled cardboard boxes into interactive artworks. In “Tales of The Boxes”, every innocent stroke told a story – where a box could turn into a lifebuoy, a room into a boat, and first aid into a miracle that preserves life.
Teddy Bear First Aid – Hug & Smile
A warm highlight of the event was the Teddy Bear First Aid corner. More than 50 teddy bears, donated through the Hug & Smile project, carried with them the love of their previous owners and continued their journey as “first aid learning buddies” for children.
Through bandaging, splinting, and caring for teddy bears, children not only practiced protecting the body but also experienced the values of sharing and reuse – where an old toy can be revived to spark joy, reduce waste, and spread the message of environmental protection.
Organized by a team of professionals
The event was professionally organized by SSVN – Survival Skills Vietnam, with the support of GIVE Sustainable, and guided by an experienced team of experts:
- Mr. Tony Coffey, Australian paramedic with over 30 years of experience, co-founder of SSVN.
- SSVN’s trainers & paramedics, who have delivered community first aid training programs for more than a decade in Vietnam.
- Accompanying doctors, ensuring the training content was scientific, accurate, and practical.
Thanks to the leadership of SSVN and the guidance of these professionals, the event became a large-scale, hands-on classroom, where everyone – from children to parents – could practice life-saving first aid skills with precision.
When Safety Becomes Art, and Every Stroke Speaks
GIVE Sustainable believes: “First aid is not just a skill – it is also an art of love, where even the smallest hands can become a shield for life.”
That is why every activity at the event – from the paintings and recycled boxes, to the teddy bears and expert-led lessons – came together to echo one united message:
Safety Star Program – When safety becomes art, and every stroke speaks.
